Short-term training event in Ljubljana, Slovenia

Exciting News from Competences4ESD Project: LTTA in Ljubljana, Slovenia!

We are thrilled to share the success of the Competences4ESD short-term training event, which recently took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, hosted by the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Education. 🇸🇮

About the Event: This 5-day training session engaged 18 VET trainers, 3 from each partner organization, focusing on teachers’ training and sustainable development. The event is a crucial step towards establishing the Competences4ESD training model. It aims to create a pool of well-trained multipliers who will support the acquisition of ESD key competences for pre- and in-service teachers during the upcoming pilots in the training course (R2).

Key Objectives:

  1. Define key competences for teachers to achieve sustainability with their learners.
  2. Concentrate on knowledge, methodologies, and creative tools like an educational role-play game.
  3. Explore the e-Learning platform’s role in offering blended training, overcoming obstacles to professional development.
  4. Test and gather feedback on the project’s outputs, including the Teacher’s ESD Key Competences Framework (R1), the training course (R2), the educational role-play game, and the e-Learning platform.

What Participants Experienced:

  • Presentation of the Training Model: Understanding the value of the ESD Key Competences training model and its applicability in various settings.
  • Practical Workshops: Participants engaged in hands-on workshops, familiarizing themselves with all project outputs and how to implement them in their trainings.

Why It Matters:

  • Efficient Knowledge Transfer: Face-to-face Train-the-Trainers events proved to be the most effective method in transferring knowledge and clarifying important issues before the upcoming pilots (R2).
  • Building a Qualified Pool: The event aimed at creating a pool of qualified VET trainers who will continue to offer training even after the project completion.

Next Steps: With the completion of this successful training event, a comprehensive report will be prepared to highlight strengths and weaknesses, paving the way for further improvements. All participants will receive certificates of attendance.

We are immensely proud of the dedication and enthusiasm shown by all participants and look forward to the continued success of the Competences4ESD project!
