Engaging Communities Through Game Design and Play
On July 6-7, 2024, Dracon Rules Design Studio proudly participated in the Athens Tabletop event, supported by the prestigious Epitrapezio Contest. As the only official organization promoting board game design contests for new creators, Epitrapezio provided an excellent platform for Dracon RDS to connect with enthusiasts and showcase its innovative work.
Dracon’s Contribution to Athens Tabletop
During the two-day event, Dracon Rules Design Studio:
Presented Their Games: Attendees had the opportunity to explore Dracon’s cutting-edge board games designed for education and social engagement.
Interactive Demo Rounds: Visitors played demo versions of several board games, including:
Podium (Competences4ESD): A sustainability-focused educational game.
LightBox (LearnArch): Exploring architectural concepts through gameplay.
SpeechAble (SpeakItUp): Building public speaking skills for youth.
WhatIf (IEUElect): Encouraging civic engagement and decision-making skills.
The interactive nature of the event allowed participants to experience firsthand the transformative power of game-based learning and how it can foster collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.
A Platform for Connection and Innovation
Athens Tabletop was more than an opportunity to present games—it was a space to engage with the community, receive valuable feedback, and inspire creativity in game design. By interacting directly with players, Dracon RDS demonstrated the effectiveness of its gamified tools in addressing real-world educational challenges.
Looking Ahead
Dracon Rules Design Studio remains committed to promoting innovation in game-based learning and will continue to collaborate with organizations like Epitrapezio to expand the reach and impact of educational board games. Events like Athens Tabletop highlight the importance of connecting with communities to foster meaningful learning experiences.
