We are happy to share that the first transnational project meeting of the Erasmus+ project GDE – Game Design for Education took place successfully in Patras, Greece, hosted by Dracon Rules Design Studio.

This first meeting marked an important step for the project, bringing together partners from Greece, Portugal, Poland, and Cyprus to start shaping the foundations of the future work. Over two intensive and productive days, the consortium focused on aligning the project vision, sharing initial findings, and planning the next steps of implementation.

During the meeting, partners worked together to present research findings and initial insights, co-create the structure of the upcoming handbook, define methodologies and case study approaches, and plan the next activities and international mobility. The meeting also offered valuable space to strengthen collaboration between different fields, including game design, education, academia, youth work, and creative industries.

Game Design for Education aims to develop a practical handbook for game designers and educators, supporting the transition of game design into the educational field. The project explores how games can be adapted, designed, and used as meaningful learning tools, while also promoting inclusion, diversity, and innovation across Europe.

The upcoming handbook will include practical methodologies, real examples, and case studies that can support professionals, educators, trainers, and aspiring designers in creating educational games with clear learning purposes.

A big thank you to all partners for the inspiring collaboration, creativity, and positive energy throughout the meeting. We are excited to move forward to the next phase of development and continue building this project together.
