Piloting the board game produced for the "Speak It Up!" Erasmus+ project in Karditsa

The Erasmus+ project "Speak It Up!" recently reached a crucial milestone with two successful piloting events in Karditsa, Greece. These sessions offered invaluable opportunities to test the Speechable board game and gather insights on its impact on youth public speaking skills. The events brought together diverse participants and highlighted the project's innovative approach to fostering public speaking confidence and active citizenship.

About the project

Piloting Event 1: Karditsa Robotics

The first piloting session took place on September 14, 2024, at the headquarters of Karditsa Robotics. Seven young participants engaged with the Speechable board game, exploring its innovative structure and speech-prompting features. Feedback from the session emphasized how the game encouraged collaboration, creative thinking, and the development of essential public speaking techniques.

Piloting Event 2: Dracon Rules Design Studio's Board Game Club

On September 17, 2024, the local board game club hosted by Dracon Rules Design Studio welcomed eight participants for the second piloting event. The group delved into the interactive and educational aspects of the board game, focusing on its ability to simulate real-life public speaking scenarios in a fun and engaging way. Participants appreciated the game's user-friendly design and the practical guidance offered in the accompanying rulebook and trainer's guide.

Key Takeaways

The piloting events highlighted the effectiveness of Speechable in building confidence and improving public speaking skills among youth.
