Alt Text

On July 14, 2024, Dracon Rules Design Studio hosted a highly engaging Multiplier Event for the Erasmus+ project, Competences4ESD, at the Game Exhibit during the vibrant MID Summer OPA Festival in Larisa, Greece. This event brought together over 30 participants from diverse backgrounds, including school and high-school teachers, university faculty, aspiring game designers, community managers, and representatives from the local press, making it a hub of collaboration and innovation.

About the project

The Competences4ESD project focuses on empowering educators by enhancing their competences in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), aligning with the UN's 4th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) – Quality Education for All. The project offers a unique training model that equips teachers with tools to foster critical thinking, collaborative learning, and proactive engagement in sustainability.

The highlight of the event was the interactive presentation of the educational role-play game “Podium.” Participants explored the game in both physical and online formats, experiencing its dynamic approach to learning about the SDGs. Through role-playing as policy makers, attendees delved into real-world scenarios, solving challenges and collaboratively working toward achieving sustainability goals. The game’s adaptability for various educational contexts was praised by educators and designers alike.

The event also included insightful presentations on the Competences4ESD project's framework and resources, such as the Teacher’s Key Competences Framework and the e-Learning platform. These sessions were followed by hands-on workshops where participants engaged directly with the game, exchanging ideas and exploring its potential applications in their educational settings.

The day concluded with an open discussion where attendees shared their feedback and suggestions, contributing to the refinement of the game and the broader Competences4ESD model. This exchange reinforced the project’s mission to inspire and equip educators to lead transformative learning experiences.

The Multiplier Event was a testament to the power of collaboration in advancing sustainable education. It highlighted the innovative strides of the Competences4ESD project and set the stage for further impactful initiatives in the field of ESD.
