Exploring Sustainability Through Education: Competences4ESD Online Multiplier Event


On July 31, 2024, the Competences4ESD team hosted an impactful online Multiplier Event, bringing together educators, trainers, and stakeholders from across the globe. This event was a key milestone in advancing the goals of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and promoting the 4th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) – Quality Education for All.

About the project

Participants had the opportunity to dive into the Competences4ESD project, which aims to redefine the essential competences educators need to effectively teach sustainability. Through engaging presentations and interactive workshops, attendees explored innovative tools like the Educational Role-Play Game and the Competences4ESD e-Learning Platform. These resources have been developed to empower educators with actionable methods to inspire sustainability in their classrooms.

Key Highlights:

  1. Presentations on Project Results:

    • A detailed review of the Teacher’s ESD Key Competences Framework and Training Course.

    • Insights into the role of gamification in sustainability education through the role-play game "Podium."

    • Demonstrations of the e-Learning platform, designed for blended and flexible learning experiences.

  2. Hands-On Workshops:

    • Interactive activities showcasing how educators can integrate these tools into their teaching practices.

    • An open discussion to gather feedback and refine the resources further.

  3. Community Building:

    • The event fostered a vibrant network of educators, trainers, and policymakers dedicated to advancing sustainable education.
